Our mission is to spread Afro-Peruvian culture across cultural boundaries, and bring visibility to the presence and cultural knowledge of African descendants in Peru. We achieve this with music and dance as the vehicle for transformation. We bring free or low cost quality arts programs to communities of color, immigrant communities, youth and adults.

 

We are committed to making our work accessible to those who feel called to learn more about the African Diaspora in Latin America, and about cultural dance forms and the codes they carry. Our programs include the free annual festival “Afro-Peruvian Fest”, free Family Dance Classes and Family Shows, school assemblies, dance and music residencies in title 1 schools, and dance theater performances.
